Another short update

Just to report that my Head of Department has now said that it’s ok for me to attend an LMT meeting, so I will be going to the next one, which is in May. Not sure whether to look forward to it or not – should be interesting, I hope – but I might be hoping for too much!

I finally got my application for funding to go to Umbrella in, and on time! I don’t think anyone else has applied to go, so there shouldn’t be a scrabble for funding, and I should be alright to go. I won’t know whether or not I’m definitely going until I have confirmation that the Staff Development people have approved my application. If I do go, I’ll just be going for the day, on 29th June. This seemed to be the day with the talks etc that look like the most interesting/relevant ones for me.

My mentor approved the latest draft of my PPDP, which was a great relief! I will email it in to CILIP tomorrow. Now all I have to do is to make sure I follow it, and do what I set out to do.

In the Library

Tomorrow we have a meeting with the issue desk staff about some proposed changes, which should be interesting. The stock management policy (such as it is!) has taken a new turn, with a plan to move lots of periodicals into the stack, where there is currently not enough room for them to go! Another challenge.
